E-MUsaic Mailing List is a general discussion list for the product line of E-MU
Systems; http://www.emu.com.

The list prides itself on the diversity of its members and aspires to provide a
forum for measured, considered discussion between kindred spirits. The list is
not a forum for ranting and raving, nor for trading insults and propagating
outragish rumours. We are happy to be "slightly off the pace" if it means we
provide a distillation of the news that is nearer the truth.

Any mail sent to the list is sent to anyone who is subscribed to it. That's the
function of a mailing list. It does make sense, too - maybe you can help anyone
else with a problem? But this will only be possible if you read his or her posting,
no matter if you initiated it or not.

Mailing lists allow all the subscribers to participate and post information to the
whole list. As a result, mailing lists are appropriate for topical discussion on
certain topics - like the E-MU instruments!

The Regular Mail version of the list sends out a message as soon as it is received.

The Digest version gathers the days emails and collates them into a single message, and gets mailed to subscribers when it grows beyond 25k in size or there is more than one day since the previous digest.

Ideally, when sending messages to you should send from the address you subscribe! But many members have multiple aliases and like the option of being able to post from any of them. The disadvantage when subscribing with one address is that the list software can't tell who you are, how many email addresses you have and what they are, and by subscribing all of your addresses, you receive multiple copies of the mailing list. If you want to send from alternative addresses, please contact .

If you have more than one email address, and mail forwarded between addresses, it's possible to lose track of which address is subscribed to which list. This can be a problem when you're trying to unsubscribe or change addresses.

If you are already receiving mail from this list, and want to change addresses, please check the header info in a received list-message to verify the subscribed address. It should likely tell which of your addresses is subscribed.
